Susan J. Jenkins
Co-Founder

A nurse by profession, Susan’s 50-year career began as a primary care nurse in one of New York City’s premiere teaching facilities, Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx. There she spent seven years on the Pulmonary floor where she had the direct responsibility of caring for critically ill patients in the pulmonary care unit. As a result of her undivided caring for her patients, and her in depth knowledge of pulmonary medicine, Susan was chosen to be a member on one of the first medical teams in America to successfully conduct a lung transplant.
After raising her four children in Ridgefield, CT, Susan returned to nursing at the Laurel Ridge Health Care Center where she had the overall responsibility of caring for thirty-four long term care and rehabilitation patients. It was here that Susan expanded her knowledge of nursing in the fields of patient medication administration, wound care, MDS assessments, Foley catheterization, nebulizer, 02 therapy, CPR, infection control and hospice care. Susan was a member of the Corporate Safety Committee.
In 2008, Susan, and her family, relocated to Tucson, AZ where she split her time between working at Life Care Center of Tucson, a skilled nursing facility, and launching Southwest Beverages® with her husband, Bob, a 35-year beverage executive. It was with Southwest Beverages® that Susan began her business career as Director of Customer Relations and Service. Susan quickly gained experience in product design, pricing, packaging, and business administration to the point where, in July 2019, with her husband, she became Co-Founder of HJS Clothing®. In appreciation of her fellow nurses, Susan drew upon her nursing experience to create HSJ Clothing’s® first product-an incredibly attractive black V-neck T-Shirt reading, “I Love Being a Nurse®”, which she targeted as a gift for nurses on Nurses Day. The events of the Covid-19 pandemic had such a dramatic effect on Susan that she created a range of frontline first responder T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies and began to market them. Susan feels so passionate about honoring and helping the families of those frontline first responders that have passed away from Covid-19, that she donates 25 % of the profit from all T-Shirts, Hoodies and Zip-up’s that bear the phrase, “I Support First Responders Covid-19 War Heroes”.
In June 2019 Susan was instrumental in founding Stuff For Everyone™ contributing her creativity in product and packaging design to introduce several new products-Comfort In A Glass® red and white wine glass sets and Santa Claus Comes Tonight™-a set of treats for Santa on Christmas Eve consisting of a Hot Cocoa For Santa® mug and Cookies for Santa plate.
Susan lives with her husband of 43 years in Oro Valley, AZ.
